nun stecken ist aber eher zweitrangig. Das Mecklenpommern eine Wirstschaft hat wurde schon häufiger gemutmasst. Einen Wirstschaftsminister leistet sich das Küstenland jedenfalls. Und was für einen. Was er der Welt laut Tagesschau erzählte ist wirklich unglaublicher Unsinn.
Ja, Masken sind ein bisschen nervig. Aber sie funktionieren, und seine Wirtschaft leidet nicht wirklich unter der Maskenpflicht. Im Gegenteil: Viele Konsumenten konsumieren gerade weil sie sich sicherer fühlen wenn alle eine Maske tragen. Freiwilliges Maskentragen funktioniert nicht. Die 1000 Tönnies Covid-19 Mitarbeiter hätten zumeist keine Masken in Güterslohs Supermärkten getragen. Das die Rheumapatientin eine auf hat hilft ihr dann leider auch nicht. Das hätte sie dann bis heute in die Sterbestatistik eingereiht.
Also Harry hat hier einen echten Mega Glawen hingelegt. Zum Glück kann ich mir vorstellen das Manuela Schwesig ihm nun schnellstmöglich und energisch ins Gewissen reden wird. Oder um es im lokalkolorit auszudrücken:

Nein. Das nicht. Diese Formulierung ist wirklich schlimm. Man darf so etwas nicht auf Leitplanken mit Filzstift schmieren. Egal wie dumm sich jemand auch verhält. Weg muss nie jemand. Da kann man sich einigen. Vielleicht sollte manche Leute ihren Mund halten. Oder sich einfach der Grenzen ihrer Kompetenzen bewußt sein.
Chuck Close turns 80. Good for him. I am not a fan. There are lots of artist that bore me more, yes. His painterly pixelations are pleasing and highly repetitive. It used to be a goal for people to sit for him.
In the beginning his way of showing people was interesting. He did not really develop from there. But that is sometimes exactly what you need to be successful as an artist: Not to confuse the market with different things you might care about. If Chuck ever did is not clear.

should be conveyed. Just like in state propaganda before the language is wonderfully wooden and hollow.
The stark realities probably are not: Africa has been a prize in all global struggles ever since ships could carry large canons, slaves and other good. This time around it will be no different.

After having watched 2 Seasons and 1 Episode it might be that Dark is the best Netflix series I’ve watched.
The yellow jacket being worn by the “Jonas Kahnwald” is great. Trying to buy it the Internet has lots of lures out. It seems that one can buy it everywhere. On closer inspection sadly the resemblance ends with the color. Non of them are the real deal, 90% are not even close. Via reddit I found this from – sadly – 2 years ago:
Seems that two years is ample time for scammers to drum up lots of really fake offerings and SEO the living shit out of it. Most of the jackets are yellow, and thats that.
It would be awesome if the genuine jacket design produced in good quality. Anette Guther did such a fantastic job on the series overall. It would only be fair if Netflix puts a bit of a budget into a small production run of the jacket. Back in my day this kind of thing would have at least produced in a small series for cast and crew. But that was Hollywood. Netflix makes better content (sometimes) but the fringes and perks might be ‘streamlined’ here are there. For all what I know it could even have happened, and I am just unaware.
Since the design is so emblematic one doesn’t even need to stitch in a logo. Netflix would benefit from it as much as the people buying it: They would buy what they want, instead of getting ripped of by some Internet profiteers.
In the meantime, if you have not watched Dark yet: Congratulations. You have a couple of interesting hours ahead of you.

Aatish Bhatia wrote this wonderful tool that lists new Covid-19 against existing one on two log axes. It can be super informative, since different countries have different policies. By its nature this way of showing the data syncs countries up in terms of the start of the spread. On the left part one can clearly see that there is a very similar initial spread.
Countries like the UK or Canada stop the rise and eventually are able to lower the number of new infections. I could imagine that once masks became the social norm you would see this clear decline. But this is a wild guess.
Sweden is strange, just based on the data it seems to have gone through different phases with different levels of mitigations. I don’t know enough about that countries specific measures to be to able to find reasons for the mix of up and steady movements.
After the US had broken the natural spread it actually looked better than the other countries in this image. Then, suddenly it did no longer. I have not found that anybody made a plausible explanation attempt for this. Unfortunately fact finding is not a goal in itself in the public discourse in the US. As I have written before the right is probably waiting until dead people start piling up again, before they cite the BLM protests as a cause. The left is just using the increase as support for the ‘see, he can’t deal with it’ message. While I agree that he can not really, I still would love to know what caused this pattern.
A pattern that will kill thousands and thousands people in July and August. Unless it is just the sudden brilliance of the US testing industry. Nobody in their right mind would believe that. Sad state that one has to wait for body bags. I will revisit this page August first to see who was right, the man in charge or myself.
Edit: Now it is August 1st. And Covid is killing more than a thousand people in the US every day. There is still no clear reason why this would be, but it happens. F*ing sad to be right. I’d rather be wrong.
Arte zeigte gestern den Film Auf Einmal. Casting kann wirklich als gelungen bezeichnet werden. Eine Einschätzung die man auch auf die Wahl Altenas als Drehort und die Ausstattung erweitern kann. Gerade die hyper reale Textur der Innenarchitektur verleiht der literarischen Sprache einen wirklich interessanten Kontrapunkt. Das Stück brilliert in den Nebenschauplätzen: Das Heer der allesamt 29-31 jährig scheinenden Bankangestellten ist wirklich prägnant in Syene gesetzt. Dabei spielt es nicht wirklich eine Rolle, wie realistisch alles den nun ist. Die Fiktion von Asli Özges Stück hat ihren Ursprung im Deutschland der Zehnerjahre. Unprätentiös weiterentwickelt trägt sie, und bildet einen durchaus anschauenswerten Rahmen für die Handlung. Um die es ja dann auch geht. Mir hat sie gefallen. Der Film weckt Interesse auf die Serie Dunkelstadt des gleichen Regisseurs.
Anmerkung: Das ich nun ja gar nicht schreiben kann, stört mich eigentlich und ganz offensichtlich nicht. Hier tut es mir aber dann doch leid. Der Film hat es nicht verdient mit so derartig schlecht aneinandergereihter Worten beschrieben zu werden. Sorry. Besser geht eben leider nicht. “Jetzt geb dir doch einfach mal Mühe” fruchtet nicht. Seit sehr langer Zeit.
